The wheels arrived yesterday and I have already fitted the front one to the frame. I haven’t put on the rear wheel yet but I will put it on today.

Fit the freewheel onto the rear wheel just by screwing it on and it will self tighten when you ride.

These are the stages of the bar taping.

1. Put 3 inch piece over brake clamp.

2. Start wrapping from the end of the bar.

3. Go up and over the brake levers.

4. Carry on wrapping tightly until you are on the top of the bars.

5. Use finishing tape to finish.

Seatpost Sorted

I sorted the seatpost issue, do not worry.

This is the Charge Spoon saddle which I am going to attach to the seatpost today, which I will post pictures of later.

Also Velox Rim Tape, not sure if I need it but I bought it in case, better safe than sorry!

Stuck Seatpost!

The seatpost that came in the frame when I bought it, is not coming out…

I need it to come out so that I can put the new one in with the new Charge Spoon saddle on.

Any tips?

Just ordered the final parts

I have ordered the final parts for my bicycle build. I now don’t have to order anymore parts, apart from the brake callipers as I had to sent the previous ones back.

I ordered :

Charge Spoon Black and Orange Saddle

Inner Brake Cable

Outer Brake Cable

Velox Rim Tape

I have ordered my wheels now! :D Once they arrive the whole bicycle will start to come together and actually look like it is getting somewhere.

I ordered a pair of 27” wheels off eBay :

Road 27” Polished Alloy Wheelset

  • THESE ARE POLISHED ALUMINIUM RIMS WITH ALUMINIUM HUBS, HP VALVE HOLES.
  • 630 X 17(27 X 1/4) ALUMINIUM POLISHED RIMS MADE BY RIGIDA (HOLLAND)
  • 36 SPOKES
  • HIGH PRESSURE VALVE HOLE FOR PRESTA VALVE OR FRENCH AS SOMETIMES KNOWN AS VALVES (BUT IT IS VERY EASY TO INCREASE THE SIZE OF THE  VALVE HOLE FOR SHRADER OR WOODS VALVE INNER TUBES  IF THATS WHAT YOU PREFER)
  • ALUMINIUM FRONT HUB 3/8” AXLE, OVER LOCKNUT DIMENSION 100MM
  • ALUMINIUM REAR HUB 3/8” AXLE, OVER LOCKNUT DISTANCE 130MM
  • THE REAR WHEEL  HAS A WIDE DISHED HUB SO IS SUITABLE FOR A 5 , 6 OR 7  SPEED FREEWHEEL
  • BOTH PAIRS OF WHEEL NUTS ARE INCLUDED
  • BECAUSE THEY ARE POLISHED THEY LOOK LIKE STEEL CHROME PLATED SO ARE VERY POPULAR WITH PEOPLE BUILDING OLD CLASSIC ROAD BIKES  AND MODERN FIXIES  WHO REQUIRE ALLOY BUT NEED THEM TO LOOK LIKE STEEL

First Hiccup of the Project…

Turns out I have ordered the wrong brakes…

Completely my fault. Unfortunately they do not fit the frame and forks, the bolt is not long enough, so I have sent them back and I will purchase some new ones once the refunded money has come through!

:(

My inner and outer brake cables have arrived!

Brake cables arrival

My Clarks Inner and Outer Brake Cables  have arrived and I will post a few photos of them and me hooking up the brakes in a minute!
